The windmills that were once alleged to be almost 12,000 in number, bring the plateau to life with their white sails spinning in the breeze. Follow the breeze to the Northern side of the Lassithiotika Mountains where your TrueTrips guide will lead you into Dikteon Andron, a cave covered with fascinating rock formations– which according to Greek mythology was the birthplace of Zeus, father of all the ancient Greek gods. Today we will take you close to an authentic village up on the mountain slopes, where you will meet with a local who will be showing you how he cooks traditional dishes with a gourmet touch.
